Here at New England Creative, we’ve captured a lot of incredible wedding stories all around New England. With our roots based here in Connecticut, we’ve gotten to know some of the best (and worst..haha) wedding venues in the state. Without question, if you’re looking for a rustic/farm wedding that’s conveniently located closed to New York City and just a few hours outside of Boston, Lion Rock Farm is definitely a place you need to visit. It’s our favorite farm venue that we’ve found in Connecticut, so it only makes sense that we share all of our lion rock farm wedding videos.

Let’s chat specifics though. First, the location. Sharon, CT sits right on the border of NY and right at the edge of the catskill mountains. From the venue, and the most common ceremony area, you’re met with an incredible view of the Catskills set behind a stunning tree – a view that is really quite unique to CT. CT is generally pretty mountain-less, but not in Sharon. Sharon’s town center is quaint, adorable, and a beautiful sleepy area for your guests to stay. The main town area is lined with cute shops, eateries and all of the New England charm you could ask for. A neighboring town was actually modeled after the Gilmore Girls town of Stars Hollow, CT – the whole NW corner of the state is truly stunning.

The staff at LRF is top notch as well. Friendly, communicative (which is great as a vendor) and always working hard for the bride, groom and their guests. Let’s talk about the incredible catering provided for most of their weddings, care of Hunt & Harvest catering. They’re focused on all local ingredients, and put together some of the most delicious food spreads, harvest boards and service that I’ve seen. This is not a lie, they are my favorite catering company that I’ve worked with in our three years as a company – SO delicious.

For your portraits on the property, you’ve got a lot of variety. From the gorgeous red barn, to the picturesque sweeping fields, on-site gardens, log archways and a unique garden greehouse shed. So many options available within just a short walk from the main ceremony area.
